there's a thousand things.... to have all your friends close by, you miss that when you get home and they're at the opposite side of the country/world! ;D
When you get there the whole thing is exciting! Once you've settled in then the work starts to get a bit repetitive but that's really insignificant - there's so much to do outside the workplace. Trips! Travel everywhere you can - make the most of it! Also parties 24/7 - if you're stuck with nothing to do - then a party somewhere is guaranteed - as long as security stay away! Just go there and make the most of it - there's not much more to say! Have Fun
I find my first year at uni has been fantastic, the independence, the friends, so much to do, the parties. Would you say that living and working at disney is better that that?
In one word - Yes! There's no work assignments to do for starters! Just tonnes of fun in the sun! Enjoy it!
It's like living in residence at school...but instead of going to class you go to work...but there's no homework, just paycheques to support your party/travel/shopping habits! Yeah fun! Shan
Its sounding even better!!! Never stayed at halls of residence this'll be the first time ive been away from my family for any longer than like 2 weeks but im so excited! Jo xx
Same thing for me Mojojo ! I've never been away from my family for any longer than 1 month, and I called them every day...
Haha when i went away on holiday with my friends for the first time i foned my mum every day for the first 3 days until on the fourth day she told me not 2 fone her for at least another 4 days unless anything went wrong! Nice!! Jo xx
well i was away at dance school but i came home most weekends so im pretty much in the same boat!!!!!! very nice of her jo! xx
Honestly, the most exciting thing?? I can't narrow it down to just one....maybe when I met Oliver Stone,... or when John Stamos and Rebecca Romijn Stamos were in Canada/UK area and John hit on my friend (and boy was Rebecca PISSED)... Or working as 'security' (and wearing a special security costume) for New Year's Eve. Here's a pic of me and Jen... .....Or when the horticulture guy snuck me up on top of the mountain so I could take some special bird's eye view pics of World Showcase (here are some pics, sorry for crappy quality, there were no digi-cams in frequent use back then!) Or being there for the opening (and Cast Sneak preview) of Animal Kingdom..... I was in the FIRST ever showing of "It's a Bug's Life" (in the tree of life), and we all go special stickers for it. That was neat...the inside wasn't even finished, and there was scaffolding and tarps everywhere, and we had to fill out a review 'form' for the show. Also, the Kilimanjaro Safari was different. During cast preview, there were no hand rails in the cars, nor was there storage for your bags and purses, so we were bouncing all over the place and we had to stop and pick up a lady's purse that bounced out of the car. Oh, and in the original safari, they showed a pretty graffic DEAD "Big Red" elephant.... Cast feedback was to get rid of a dead elephant. Depsite the message about how poaching is bad, it's not Disney-ish at all. Anyway here's a pic (again crappy quality) I took on a cast preview day....I think this the crane you see is now where the water rapids ride is... Also being there for the 25th Anniversary of WDW, period, was pretty cool. I had people offering to buy my name tag right then and there on the spot for $25 USD, just because of the 25th special logo... I'm sure if I rack my brain I could come up with dozens and dozens more of exciting moments...all I have to do is flip through my photo albums some more! LOL!!
There were many exciting days at EpCot, New Years and Halloween are definitely highlights. But I agree with Rudy the best part is to have all your best friends living just around the corner. You will miss it so much once you are gone. To have people from all over the world in one apt. complex is fantastic and you will never have this kind of situation again in life. Julia
